The Full Story
I’m Harpreet Kaur Arora—a psychologist, therapist, and rehabilitation professional. At heart, I’m guided by Carl Jung’s words: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.” This quote anchors my approach to therapy: human, humble, and deeply relational.
My journey in the mental health field has been one of continuous learning and reflection. I hold a postgraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi, an Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling from NIPCCD (New Delhi), a One-Year Training in Narrative Therapy, and a PG Diploma in Mindfulness-Based Counselling: Listening with Embodied Presence. I’ve also participated in a range of workshops, training, and seminars to constantly grow in my ability to support those I work with.
I draw from diverse modalities—narrative therapy, play and art-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches, mindfulness-based counseling—because I believe therapy should meet each person where they are. I’ve worked extensively with children, adolescents, and young adults, offering assessments, psychoeducational reports, parent consultations, and both play and talk-based therapeutic sessions.
My work with neurodivergent individuals has been particularly enriching, teaching me about inclusion, advocacy, and the beauty of human diversity. My interest in working with adults inspired me to open space for adult clients in my therapy practice. As a therapist, I see myself as a co-traveller in my clients' journeys—someone who walks alongside them, offering understanding, acceptance, and support.
I’m also deeply drawn to holistic well-being and psycho-spiritual integration. This has led me to explore Integral Yoga Psychology and Buddhist Psychology, as well as to embed mindfulness and meditative practices in both my personal and professional life. Additionally, I have volunteered with an Auroville-based organisation and participated as well as facilitated various courses anchored in spiritual living and transformation.

My Experience
I have worked as a Psychologist at assessment and therapy centres where I have met many children, adolescents and their parents for one on one psychotherapy and parenting sessions. I have also met young adults for psychotherapy sessions, offering support for socio-emotional and neurodevelopmental difficulties. During my work there, I have conducted various psychoeducational assessments, drafted assessment reports and met parents as well as other stakeholders in the client’s ecosystem for counseling sessions to support understanding and integration of the client in their environment.
During my work at NIPCCD, New Delhi, I work towards training and supervision of the students of Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling into various clinical processes. As part of the Child Guidance Centre, I conducted training programmes for NGO staff and functionaries around supporting children and adolescent’s development and mental health.
During my training, I have worked at various schools and worked towards designing and conducting individual and group therapies with children and adolescents. My work at schools also entailed conducting life skill sessions on various topics like growing up, conflict resolution, emotional awareness etc with adolescents. I along with my team worked towards early identification and screening of children with mental, emotional or neurodevelopmental conditions and providing systems of support for them. I also conducted career assessments and profiling sessions with students of class X. I briefly worked at a preschool to understand, analyse and support the various systems and processes from a developmental perspective.
My diverse experience in settings like Apollo Hospital, Special School, Children’s Home (CCI), NGO as well as an Old Age Home provided me exposure to understand and work with a diverse population. It equipped me with knowledge, skills and resources to support diverse needs of the people.
